Ranheat vs. Competitors: Talbott’s

Talbott’s was founded in Staffordshire in the 1970s, and in 2009 became part of the Air Plants Dust Extraction group, under the ownership of Smith Brothers Leicester Ltd. They produce various types of biomass boilers and heaters that utilise wood waste onsite. How do they compare to Ranheat?

Ranheat is an older company than Talbott’s. The original Danish business was founded in the 1950s, and UK manufacturing began in 1990. Since then, Ranheat has remained under the private ownership of Chris and Barbara Franklin. We are a family-owned and family-run company with a very hands on approach.

In contrast, Talbott’s began as a small business but is now part of a large company group with many different divisions and interests. This means that Talbott’s do not retain the same level of autonomy and independence as Ranheat, from their products to their company management.

At Ranheat, you can be assured that you will deal with the same core team over time, and we are committed to providing a bespoke service for the lifecycle of the system. We are interested in longevity in both our biomass systems and our customer relationships. We design and manufacture our system to last for a minimum of 15 years, operating continuously.

We also provide a variety of service contracts to fit the needs of your business and the Ranheat system that you purchase. We also have the benefit of our RanheatIO Remote Monitoring service, making sure that your system runs at maximum efficiency and dealing with any issues as quickly as possible to minimise downtime and any costs.

There are also crucial differences in the design of Ranheat’s boilers versus Talbott’s. Both companies manufacture in the UK, which is a huge benefit, but Ranheat’s systems are more efficient. For example, our warm air heaters have a greater surface area in the heat condensers and a higher thermal mass, meaning that they can process higher thermal loads over time than a Talbott’s system.

Choosing Ranheat will always be the smart choice for you and your business. Contact our team to find out how a Ranheat system could benefit you. We also have a page of Frequently Asked Questions that may be helpful.
