Treco is one of the leading suppliers of commercial biomass heating systems in the UK. They were founded in 2005 and are based in Devon. How do they compare to Ranheat?
Ranheat design, manufacture, and install all our biomass systems. Treco provides design and installation, but their systems are manufactured overseas and then imported. This means they create a lot more pollution by transporting the systems to the UK – whereas Ranheat manufactures everything locally in Northampton. This makes Ranheat a much more sustainable and environmentally friendly option from the start.
At Ranheat we are committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and to minimising our carbon footprint in any way we can.
Treco only supplies biomass systems to the commercial sector, whereas Ranheat is firmly in the industrial sector. There are some supplies to commercial enterprises, but this is a minority of Ranheat business.
Commercial vs. industrial comes down to design and scale – it is like the difference between a petrol car engine and a diesel truck engine. Both are engines, but are designed to achieve totally different levels of power and efficiency.
Continuing this analogy, Treco commercial biomass systems require different types of fuel compared to Ranheat industrial systems. One of the key benefits of a Ranheat system is that it is fuelled by waste onsite that would otherwise have to be transported elsewhere to be disposed of, meaning that you save time and money as well as reducing carbon emissions. Treco systems are fuelled by logs, wood pellets, and wood chips – all fuels that have to be processed/produced and most likely transported in order to burn them. These are much more expensive and much less sustainable than using up your own wood waste onsite.
Treco provides boiler servicing and multi-year service contracts. Ranheat also offers these, but crucially we are far better equipped to service our boiler systems because we also manufacture them. We offer a much more personalised and bespoke service, providing support and servicing for the lifetime of the system. We design and manufacture our system to last for a minimum of 15 years, operating continuously.
We are also uniquely positioned to service and maintain our biomass systems because we design and manufacture them ourselves. We retain drawings for every boiler and heater we make, and can supply new components indefinitely as well as upgrading systems such as filtration over time.
Another benefit of Ranheat’s servicing and maintenance setup is our RanheatIO Remote Monitoring system. This provides remote control and monitoring of your biomass system, meaning that any issues can be seen and resolved as quickly as possible, minimising downtime and any associated costs.
