Commercial woodworking generates wood waste, which can cost money to dispose of. Ranheat draw on over 30 years’ experience to design, build, and supply intelligent biomass boiler and warm air systems, powered by waste wood in all formats from large industrial sites. Our systems can handle anything from one to a hundred tonnes of wood waste.
Reduce waste management costs and provide clean, energy efficient heating and hot water for your entire site. We engineer complete, automated end-to-end biomass solutions with full service support from our expert team in the UK.
As energy demands in woodworking rise, the future of fossil fuels as a cost-effective solution looks increasingly uncertain. Biomass fuelled systems offer a smarter alternative for heating, drying, kilning, finishing and all the other requirements of busy industrial sites.
Instead of relying on legacy fuel systems, Ranheat can specify biomass space and process heating systems to generate up to 6MW. Your wood waste is converted on-site, saving money on waste disposal, and providing tailored, sustainable energy.
Our biomass boilers, silos, automated hoppers and warm air systems are able to handle all types of wood waste. We can specify systems using offcuts of hardwood or softwood, MDF, coated or uncoated board and even dust, to maximise efficiency in wood waste disposal on your site.
All our systems are manufactured in the UK to the highest standards, and provide reliable energy conversion with low overheads.
Using biomass energy instead of fossil fuels can contribute to reducing the overall CO2 footprint of your business. Converting wood waste into biomass energy is a cleaner alternative than oil or gas, with wood absorbing the equivalent carbon dioxide released in emissions during its lifecycle.
Using waste wood on-site for energy reduces associated emissions from transportation too, reducing waste vehicle movements locally and contributing to cleaner air.
The government Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme (RHI Scheme) currently provides incentive payments to eligible generators of renewable heat, including commercial and public sector biomass boiler installations. Payments are available for qualifying systems for the lifetime of the installation.
After the RHI scheme ends in March 2021, it is likely the government will further incentivise the move away from fossil fuels, making Ranheat biomass combustion systems an obvious, cost-effective alternative to oil and gas-fired energy.
Ranheat are at the leading edge of Industry 4.0 and IoT innovation in biomass space and process heating. With a background in software engineering, we take a custom approach to every install, ensuring smarter automation and effective heat management throughout every process in the system.
Maximum energy efficiency, minimum downtime.
It’s time to make the change…
No two industrial biomass requirements are identical. We take the time to understand your energy requirements from the ground up. Our skilled and experienced team customise and specify exactly the right biomass solution for each of our customers, to generate the most efficient cost savings and sustainable heating solution for your business.
Learn how much energy is available in your wood waste! How much money could you save by using the energy from you wood waste instead of buying fuel.
Most of the wood used by wood manufacturers and wood packaging waste is between 10-12% moisture content. By knowing how much wood waste is produced each week, we can calculate the amount of energy available.
Disposal costs per ton have huge variations depending on amount, logistics and available transport. Put in the average cost per ton.

+ HOW DO WE CALCULATE THIS AND MORE INFORMATION ON THESE NUMBERS.
We assume 52 weeks in a year and the energy content of the wood to be 10-12%. This gives a energy content per ton of 4000kWh/T. This is a good approximation to be starting from. Higher moisture content wood will have less kWh/T, 20% moisture content might have 3000kWh/T. The only sure way to know is to get you wood sampled in a lab.
Please input your yearly energy usage below. We will compare this number to the energy available in your wood waste above.
This calculation assume mains natural gas being used at a cost of 7.5p/kWh. The slider will increase the savings can have with increasing energy usage until the total is large than the wood waste you have available. This figure will be found on your bill or energy usage statement
